It is produced with passion in small quantities and is aged for at least 2.5 years in oak barrels in the highlands of the state of Jalisco in Mexico. The Don Julio 1942 is produced as a tribute to the year in which Don Julio González started producing tequila. Its exceptional softness comes from a longer maturation process and manufacturing based on hand-picked blue agave which is grown under our supervision for six to ten years. An amber gold with caramel and chocolate smells and a lingering taste of oak, vanilla and toasted agave. Don Julio 1942 can be enjoyed neat in a tulip glass. It lends itself very well to select cocktails. The bottle is a gem. A superb original gift.
